| Was de FMF-server vandaag offline? Naast DGE viel ook de website van de FMF zelf niet te bereiken gedurende een groot gedeelte van de dag. |

En helemaal niks zei, waardoor het aantal bezoeken per dag vrij indrukwekkend was vergeleken met de inhoud (kwantiteit) van het forum.message=Sjonge... Groot onderhoud FMF Server grotendeels af
Beste gebruikersschaar,
Zoals jullie gemerkt hebben, is de FMF Server vandaag een groot deel
van de dag onbereikbaar geweest. Dit in verband met het aangekondigde
groot onderhoud. Tijdens dit onderhoud hebben we de Redhat versie
opgewaardeerd van 7.0 naar 9. Ook is de kernel opgewaardeerd van
2.2.19 naar 2.4.21-rc2. (beide dus de meest recente)
Tijdens het opwaarderen van sendmail kan het zijn dat er een paar
emailtjes ten onrechte gebounced zijn. In dit geval heeft de verzender
een automatische reply gekregen, dat de mail niet bezorgd kon worden.
Bij het onderhoud zijn uiteraard de mailboxen, homedirectories en
databases allemaal bewaard gebleven.
Op dit moment is de stand van zaken dat de server weer bereikbaar is,
en dat de basisfunctionaliteit (ssh toegang, email, webserver) het
weer doet. Er zijn nog wel de nodige losse eindjes die aan elkaar
moeten worden geknupt, dus daar zijn we morgen nog wel de hele dag
mee zoet.
Ik zou graag aan jullie willen vragen om even kritisch rond te kijken
of alles weer een beetje werkt zo, en eventuele storingen even naar
comcie@fmf.nl te emailen. Zo kunnen we hopelijk zo snel mogelijk weer
een beetje netjes draaien.
