Een belangrijke vraag waarop het antwoord vanzelfsprekend is:
DGE is per definitie perfect!
Helaas blijkt de praktijk anders uit te vallen. Maar wat doe je eraan? Is er iemand die een kant en klare oplossing heeft? Nee! Daarom vraag ik jullie om jullie mening te geven over wat de grootste problemen zijn. Uiteraard ga ik eerst mijn eigen mening geven.
(dus is dit weer een enorm bericht)
1) Vroeger... vroeger werden berichten op een manier geplaatst dat er altijd wel een reactie op te geven viel. En ookal was dat niet het geval, het aantal bezoekers was dusdanig groot dat iemand elke keer opnieuw begon met emmeren. Dat mist nu in extreme mate. Er worden dode berichten geplaatst. Zoals Scylla in 'een bepaald' onderwerp heeft vermeld:
"het is niet interessant DLL, zelfs niet interessant genoeg voor jouw karige reactie"
Sja... Wat zeg je daar nou op? Het is niet echt leuk tegenover de groep en je kunt er niet over gaan discussieren... Je kunt er helemaal niks mee. Het forum gaat dood. Waarom plaats je zo'n reactie? Je vindt het niet interessant? Waarom dan wel je stem laten horen? Das nergens voor nodig.
Scylla is niet de eerste en zeker niet de enige die zulke berichten heeft geplaatst, maar op dit moment wel het meest recente voorbeeld.
Ik vraag jullie allemaal om alleen positieve energie mee te nemen naar DGE. Net als vroeger, moeten we weer terugkrijgen dat mensen om de vijf minuten kijken of er weer iets leuks geplaatst is! Niet zoals nu dat als je je toch verveeld en levensmoe bent, ook maar even op DGE kijkt of daar nog wat gebeurt.
2) Polls moeten blijven stromen. En dan geen dingen waarvan je je afvraagt waar dat nu vandaan komt, maar alleen serieuze polls of het tegenovergestelde, maar wel met een inhoud. Suggesties zijn welkom van iedereen! En denk erom: iedereen die een quizpoll bedenkt, weet ook meteen het antwoord!
3) Meer actieve onderwerpen.
Lekker simpel, toch? Maar wat zijn nu goede onderwerpen voor een forum als deze? Nou, die zijn er niet. Er moet niet over nagedacht worden. Wij moeten ons dus een beetje minder intelligent gedragen dan wij werkelijk zijn.
Als iemand aanvullingen heeft, zijn deze welkom.
Als iemand het niet met mij eens is en mij de huid vol wil schelden, graag!

| Ik ben het wel met je eens Sascha. Dooddoeners zijn uit den boze. Ik denk dat het komende paashaas-idee het forum wel ten goede zal komen. Quizjes zijn inderdaad erg leuk, alleen is het vaak moeilijk met een vraag te komen die voor iedereen goed te beantwoorden is en tegelijkertijd ook een beetje uitdagend is; dus geen vragen als bij `Get The Picture' of `De Postcode Loterij Show'. Dat is misschien de reden dat er niet zoveel quizjes meer verschijnen. Verder moeten die polls wat mij betreft niet zo lang blijven staan. Ik haal zelf mijn polls meestal pas weg als ze onderaan staan, maar als er dan een poll blijft staan... Die poll van de verkiezingsuitslag is bijvoorbeeld niet echt actueel meer. Ik denk niet dat er nog veel stemmen bij komen. |

Bijzonder jammer, die reactie van je, Frode. Het druist tegen alles in wat onze kersverse administrator nu juist probeert te stoppen. Zonder weer over KzK etc. te gaan uitweiden (hoppa, weer een praeteritio gescoord) zou ik je toch vriendelijk doch dringend willen vragen een passende(r) reactie op dit mooie bericht van Sascha te plaatsen. Dit alles terzijde.
Even de focus richtend op het bericht van Sascha: Chapeau! Mijn complimenten, een bijzonder mooie post. Hij geeft zeker stof tot nadenken, maar nadenken kost tijd, en de tijd glipt me deze week door de vingers en kom ik handenvol tekort - oh, oh, wat komt dat tentamen schrikbarend snel dichtbij!
Vlug dan maar even wat eerste reacties op de punten die je in het bericht noemt.
1) Ware dit forum een levend wezen, dan zou ik zeggen dat de energie dit dit wezen eens zo levendig maakte, eruit vervlogen is. Alle leden hebben om persoonlijke redenen hun online communicatie heil ergens anders gezocht de laatste tijd, en dat ontnam het forum de energie. Het eerste grote breekpunt kwam eigenlijk met het vertrek van Laurens. Ik heb hier zeker een rol in gespeeld, en heb als zodanig dan ook één van de doodsteken aan dit forum toegediend. Hiervoor trek ik een deel van het boetekleed aan, en bied ik mijn welgemeende excuses aan. In aanwezigheid van Laurens was het leuk om een berichtenrace te houden, waarbij je wist dat je nooit Laurens' quotum zou kunnen overtreffen - niet dat dat bijvoorbeeld Edwin en mij ervan weerhield om het toch te proberen: het gaf een extra dimensie aan de drijfveer om berichten te posten. Zo'n drijfveer mist nu.
2) Het was een vreemde gewaarwording toen tijdens die periode van Grote Droogte mijn poll over de verkiezingsuitslag de enige was die DGE sierde. Meestal waren er immers minstens twee andere polls bij van andere personen. Gelukkig kwamen er meer polls bij toen ik mijn 'How Now Brown Cow' poll erop zette. Maar je hebt zeker gelijk: Polls moeten blijven stromen. Ik zal binnenkort die polls uitschakelen en over de resultaten rapporteren op de nieuws pagina.
3) Actieve onderwerpen vereisen eigenlijk dat vonkje energie om een thread te starten - die energie die zo volop en uitbundig aanwezig was in den beginne. Die energie mist nu ook, en dat betekent dat de actieve onderwerpen missen. De oplossing voor dit probleem is dus: Nieuwe energie. En ik moet zeggen, jouw posts dragen hier zeker toe bij! Alleen gaan ze misschien wel snel ergens over - bijv. over die PC Active Puzzel. Dat is meteen alweer een vast, strak onderwerp. Het zal misschien beter zijn om over niets te lullen, zoals je al impliceert in dit derde punt. Dat geeft juist meer de mogelijkheid tot het uiten van vrije meningen. Ik weet wel, het is makkelijker om het meteen over een concreet onderwerp te hebben, maar toch zal het belangrijk zijn de balans concrete onderwerpen - nonsens onderwerpen enigszins te doen hellen naar de kant van de nonsens onderwerpen. Uiteraard hoeven de betreffende threads dan niet complete nonsens te zijn, maar deze term gebruikte ik maar even voor het gemak om een contrast te scheppen tussen de twee typen onderwerpen.
Vooralsnog is dit mijn eerste reactie, wie weet volgt er -bijv. in de vakantie- wel een uitgebreidere reactie, die wat meer doordacht is. |

Het paashaas idee zal zeker dat sprankje nieuwe hoop kunnen geven! Wat mij betreft mag het onderwerp dan ook helemaal worden uitgemolken als het project is uitgevoerd.
Verder vond ik dat jij altijd wel leuke quizjes had. Ze waren echt bedoeld om wat langer na te denken (tenminste, voor mij wel... :-S)
Wat die polls betreft: Daar heb je helemaal gelijk in. Zoals gezegd in mijn vorige bericht, zal ik ze zo snel mogelijk verwijderen. |

Die quiz-polletjes zijn inderdaad moeilijk te bedenken ja... En nu we inmiddels wel kunnen stellen dat wij de paashaasideeën zullen realiseren, is er werk voor Frode aan de winkel. Want wij willen toch allemaal een paashaas zien in de emmer rechtsboven?
Zelf ben ik alleen bang dat deze paashaasdag te laat plaats zal vinden en dat mensen daarom weer interesse verliezen in DGE. En wat zal er dan wel niet gebeuren na deze paashaasdag?
We hebben altijd 22 juli nog, maar ik ben ook bang dat dat, net als in maart, niet zo'n succes zal blijken, aangezien slechts vier mensen, waaronder ikzelf, sowieso zullen meedoen. |

Helaas zal de toekomst niet alle oplossingen kunnen bieden. Zaken als onrecht, geweld, discriminatie zijn van alle tijden en alle plaatsen (Kijk maar naar Star Trek bijvoorbeeld ;-)). Nou, je poging om jezelf er snel uit te kletsen gaat een beetje mis. Je haalt oorzaak en gevolg een beetje door elkaar, en het gevolg was ook niet altijd een gevolg van specifiek die voornoemde oorzaak: Arme mensen stonken indertijd inderdaad. Rijke mensen echter konden er net zo goed wat van. In de tijd van Louis XIV gebruikte men dan veelvuldig parfums om die stank te verhullen.
Nu zou je natuurlijk als tegenargument kunnen opwerpen: "En Vespanius dan? Zei die niet: 'Geld stinkt niet' ?". Inderdaad, dat zei hij (in feite zei hij 'Pecunia non olet', maar dat betekent natuurlijk precies hetzelfde) - Vespanius zei het echter omdat hij belastinggeld ging heffen op de openbare toiletten, waar zijn zoon kritiek op leverde. Het stinken van geld (dus rijkdom) zou dan dus komen door de stank van de toiletten.
Gaat het intussen nog ergens over? Ik geloof het niet. Dit was dan ook weer een SOG-actie. |

Goh, dat is weer een belangrijke les in het leven! Ik vind het op zijn minst opmerkelijk dat mensen zo veel verstand kunnen hebben van toiletten, al zal dat wel aan mij liggen.
Maar mag ik jullie er wel op wijzen dat in Plan-9 From Outer Space juist duidelijk wordt gemaakt dat alle ellende in één klap opgelost kan worden? Daar staan de mensen namelijk op het punt om een lichtbom uit te vinden. Deze laat alle atomen in een lichtstraal exploderen en op die manier vergaat het gehele universum. Dan is er ook een einde gekomen aan al het leed en geweld!

Hee hee hee! Dat was niet mijn schuld! Ik was gewoon op tijd van huis vertrokken om naar het bushokje te lopen. Kwam ik daar, geen bus. Toen hoorde ik van iemand anders die bij het bushokje stond dat men juist die ochtend had besloten om ineens over te gaan op de zondagdienstregeling! De schuld ligt hier dus volledig bij de Arriva. |

Het werkstuk werd gemaakt in drie avonden (ongeveer op de manier waarop we het MiniRPGtje hebben gemaakt).
