In deze eendaagse lezen we uit het geschrift "Gods tempel zijn wij". Dit werkje stamt uit 1543, en is een mystiek commentaar bij de liturgische vieringen door het jaar. De schrijfster wilde anoniem blijven, maar waarschijnlijk was zij een zuster van het St.-Agnietenklooster te Arnhem: Reinalda van Eymeren. Van de hand van dezelfde schrijfster stamde waarschijnlijk ook nog de Die Evangelische Peerle (parel), dé mystieke bestseller van de 16e eeuw.
"Gods tempel zijn wij" is een geschrift aan het begin de Nieuwe Tijd, maar het is door vele wortels nauw verbonden met de Middeleeuwen. De schrijfster ervan verenigt in haar werk de meer rationeel-speculatieve mystiek van de Rijnlandse mystici met de intense minne-mystiek van de Begijnen. Daarbij is ze een begenadigd schrijfster, die prachtige en poëtische beelden weet te vinden voor het geestelijke leven. Hét centrale thema van Reinalda van Eymeren is het zoeken naar de schat/parel die in onze eigen akker verborgen ligt.
Aan de verborgen schat in zijn innerlijk ontleent de mens zijn waardigheid. Misschien is dat een boodschap die ons in deze tijd des te meer zal aanspreken, nu wij in de moderne maatschappij vaak niet meer lijken te zijn dan gemakkelijk vervangbare radertjes in een groot productie-netwerk. De volgende tekst laat zien hoe waardevol de mens is in de mystiek van Reinalda van Eymeren:

Gewoon volhouden! Je komt er wel!
En ik vind jouw berichje best meevallen in KzK gehalte, aangezien onze Bjørn keurig heeft geïmplementeerd dat Jantje ook nu nog zijn posts kan editten. En dit berichje is ook niet KzK omdat het aanmoedigen van bepaalde individuen (soortgenoten) op deze planeet zeer acceptabel blijkt. |
