Edwin, http://www.moonlightrpg.nl/ financieren Laurens, Georg en ik met z'n drieen waardoor het betaalbaar is. In totaal kost zo'n domeinnaam rond de 5 euro per maand. Als er genoeg mensen zijn die mee willen betalen aan http://www.(de)goudenemmer.nl/ dan vind ik het geen enkel probleem. Jij zou het ook kunnen regelen Edwin. De server moet dan wel PHP en MySQL services zou bieden.
Misschien is het ook een optie om gewoon alleen de naam te registreren en het hosten verder door de FMF te laten doen, ik weet alleen niet wanneer de FMF gaat klagen over een te intensief gebruik van hun MySQL database. Daar komen we vanzelf achter. Ik weet ook niet hoeveel dat scheelt in geld en of particulieren al zelf domeinnamen kunnen registreren. |

Een eigen domeinnaam is een leuk idee! Alleen dringen zich dan weer gelijk velerlei gedachten op. Ik zal er enkele noemen:
Ik meen me te herinneren dat een domeinnaam inderdaad alleen kan worden geregistreerd indien degene die het domein aanvraagt bij de Kamer van Koophandel ingeschreven staat. Dat houdt dus in dat de Gouden Emmer club ófwel een officiële vereniging ófwel een bedrijf zal moeten worden.
Een eigen domeinnaam is alleen een goed idee als de Gouden Emmer echt een lang leven is beschoren. Waarschijnlijk zul je bij vele domein aanbieders een contract voor tenminste een jaar ofzo moeten ondertekenen. Als de Gouden Emmer dezelfde levensduur krijgt als Epic, zie ik geen bezwaren. Ook de grote reactiehoeveelheden per dag lijken me wel te duiden op geregelde bezoeken en een lange levensduur.
Wat de financiën betreft, het volgende: Ik denk dat het niet meer dan redelijk is, wanneer de administrators hun evenredige deel in de kosten meebetalen. Op die manier wordt de administratieve verantwoordelijkheid uitgebreid met financiële verantwoordelijkheid, en krijgt de functie administrator meer dimensie. Als administrator ben ik dan ook dus bij deze bereid mijn bijdrage in de kosten te doen, mits uiteraard de overige administrators ook bereid zijn dit voorbeeld te volgen.

Administrators zijn: Edwin, Laurens, Rinke, Ramon, Georg en ik. We zijn met z'n zessen, een ruwe schatting van 1 euro per maand per persoon. Wat betreft de K.v.K, ik heb ergens gelezen dat nog dit jaar particulieren ook domeinnamen kunnen registreren. Maar als we een domein laten hosten bij een bedrijf dan hoef je als particulier geen K.v.K nummer te hebben.
Ik heb nu in ieder geval http://goudenemmer.cjb.net/ aangevraagd voor degenen die dat makkelijker vinden. Zonder gebruik van URL cloaking of statistieken, dus zonder pop-ups. |

Eén schamele euro per maand... Dat is praktisch niets. Wat zeg ik, het is zelfs nog goedkoper dan 'de Riepe', het daklozenblad (fl. 3,- waarvan fl. 1,- voor de verkoper)! Edwin, ik hoop dat je nog net zo enthousiast blijft over de betaalregeling nu je weet dat je ook administrator bent... :-)
Ik vind http://goudenemmer.cjb.net ook net zo goed overigens. Ik had bij het intypen van die URL bij Edwin's site of de Epic site ook geen problemen met zo'n naam. Bovendien scheelt het maar een paar letters met een echte domeinnaam (bijv. www.goudenemmer.nl). En vaak bookmark je een site die je vaak bezoekt toch...
Ik wil met dit standpunt niet aangeven dat ik plotseling tegen een eigen domeinnaam ben, zeker niet. Ik ben nog net zo bereid als eerst om mijn financiële bijdrage te doen. Wat ik wel duidelijk wil maken, is dat ik een cjb.net adres een even goed alternatief vind, en dat daarmee ook meerdere mensen (bijv. Laurens) tevreden gesteld kunnen worden. |

Ik denk dat de domeinnaam optie maar het beste afgeschreven kan worden. Als 33% van de administrators niet mee wil betalen, verhoogt dat de kosten voor de overige administrators al met 16,7%. Niet dat dat nu zo'n probleem zal zijn, een klein percentage van een klein bedrag blijft nog steeds een klein bedrag - maar de algemene tendens lijkt gewoon negatief te zijn jegens een eigen domeinnaam. Ik zal dan ook niet meer deze optie openhouden, en me aansluiten Bjørn: De CJB link doet het goed. Voor mij hoeft de eigen domeinnaam ook niet zo nodig meer. En ik kan me wel vinden in de mening van Georg, wanneer hij zegt dat een domeinnaam meer een hebbedingetje is. Of in dit geval dan: Een webbedingetje... En over die kleine-jongetjes-fase zouden we nu toch zo langzamerhand heen gegroeid moeten zijn.
