Ramon meldde ons al in het nieuws over "een ontvoering". Nou laat ik daar eens wat meer over vertellen.
Een tijdje geleden kreeg Edwin weer bericht van Endemol dat er een oudjaarsspecial van Laat Ze Maar Lachen zou worden opgenomen. Uiteraard wilden Edwin en ik daar van de partij zijn!
Nu wil het feit dat Ramon LZML een kutprogramma vindt, en Ramon over onze Ron ook niet echt is te spreken. Daarom moest hij gewoon mee.
We besloten een list te bedenken. Onder valse voorwendselen van een kart-uitje hadden we hem 23 december 2002 uiteindelijk in de auto zitten en gingen we naar Ron! Zijn verbazing was groot uiteraard!
Nou dus om een lang verhaal kort te maken: we hebben een LZML uitzending bijgewoond, met als gasten Bridget, iemand van GTST, een voetballer, Tooske en Rudolf van Veen (kok uit Life & Cooking).
Maar nu komt het: na de uitzending vroegen we aan de stagemanager of Ron misschien onze CD wilde signeren, en binnen de kortste keren stonden we BACKSTAGE! Ron heeft onze CD gesigneert, we hebben even met hem gesproken en we zijn met hem op de foto gegaan! Whoo! We hebben ook nog even met Rudolf gepraat.
Wat wel minder is, is dat we nu hebben gemerkt dat Ron een hele aardige vent is, en dat we nu moeilijker belachelijk kunnen maken... Maar ach... |

Ik had dus tegen iedereen, inclusief mijn ouders, verteld dat ik ging karten! Daar had ik ook helemaal rekening mee gehouden, dus ik had me er enigszins op gekleed. Ik verkeerde echt helemaal in die veronderstelling, en ik had me er ook op verheugd. Laurens had een sluitend verhaal: Een studiegenoot werkte bij de indoor-kart in Veendam, en kon ons dus gratis een halfuurtje karten bezorgen.
Vanmiddag om 16:00 afgesproken, en in de auto blijkt dat we niet de A28 maar de A7 nemen. Ik vind het al vreemd, maar ach, Laurens zal vast wel een kortere weg weten. Edwin zet een CD'tje op met muziek, waarbij plotseling (perfecte voorbereiding) een 'nieuwsbericht' de muziek onderbreekt...
"Dit is een speciaal nieuwsbulletin voor Ramon van Tol. Hij denkt dat hij op dit moment met zijn vrienden gezellig gaat karten, maar in werkelijkheid gaat hij mee naar de opnames van het TV-programma LZML." !
Het duurt even voordat het bij mij doordringt, maar als het dan eindelijk is doorgedrongen is de klap hard en onverwachts. Achteraf blijkt dat bij eerdere discussies over dat ik eens mee moest gaan naar een LZML opname, ik gezegd heb: "Dat lukt jullie nooit!". Dit werd als een uitdaging opgevat en omgezet in een werkelijk waar perfect uitgevoerd plan. Als nietsvermoedend slachtoffer ben ik met open ogen in de val gelopen.
Zo heeft mijn avond plots een heel andere wending genomen. Na redelijk wat reistijd en een beetje gezoek zijn we dan eindelijk bij Showbiz City en de studio's in Aalsmeer. Na enige parkeertroubles* zijn we dan op de plek waar het allemaal gebeurt. Blijkt dat de uitzending ook nog eens een gala-oudjaars uitzending is. Daar sta je dan met je vrijetijdskleding. Maar goed, in de foyer zijn geheel in stijl van de uitzending oliebollen die (ja, ik had niet verwacht dat ik dit ooit nog zou zeggen) lekker zijn! Er zit dan ook veel sukade doorheen. Na lang wachten (we zijn veel te vroeg) mogen we er dan eindelijk in, en in de studio mogen we een plaats zoeken. Het valt me op dat in het echt het decor maar heel magertjes aandoet, en dat het knap is dat het er op TV zo goed uitziet. De stage-manager (ook in gala) warmt het publiek op met een paar 'inklap'-rondes. Na drie keer doen onze handen al zeer. Uiteindelijk begint het programma dan, en ach, als je er eenmaal bent is het wel leuk om gewoon eens zo'n opname mee te maken. Dat het programma drie keer niks is neem je maar op de koop toe; vooral omdat er wel wat leuke babes ('iemand van GTST': Aukje van Ginneken; 'voetballer': Petrovic oid van RKC Waalwijk) als gasten zijn. Het gemaakte lachen om de flutfilmpjes zorgt er wel voor dat je kaakspieren na een tijdje zeer gaan doen, maar goed, dat heb je er wel voor over.
Een normale LZML opname zou slechts een uur duren, deze oudejaars uitzending duurt natuurlijk veel langer, dus zitten we toch wel twee uur in een bloedhete, benauwde studio. Maar wij weten nu wel wie en wat er in het programma voorkomen, en uiteraard gaan we kijken om te zien of wij zelf ook nog in beeld komen!
Inderdaad was het leukste moment van de avond nog de backstage ontmoeting met onze grote held, Ron! Edwin wordt zowaar een beetje zenuwachtig bij het vooruitzicht op een ontmoeting met zijn idool. Het is even wachten, en voor ons zijn eerst een paar echte fans. Serieus, echte fans. Die vakanties opzeggen om maar een opname te kunnen bijwonen. Ron herkent ze ook gewoon, en heeft een leuke conversatie met ze.
Dan heeft hij eindelijk tijd voor ons, en Edwin is er als de kippen (tokkedietok) bij om de CD te laten ondertekenen. Ron is blij verrast als de CD tevoorschijn komt - een onverwachte confrontatie met een verleden waar hij al dan niet aan herinnerd wenst te worden. Achteraf is er nog bij ons de discussie of hij nu het woord 'jeugdzonden' of 'jeugdsentimenten' gebruikte. Op de vraag hoeveel die CD gekost heeft, zegt Edwin '€ 5,='. Ron zegt dat dit hem nog meevalt; hij had verwacht dat hij nog maar twee euro zou opleveren! Een gezonde dosis zelfspot dus.
Als bekeerde Ron-hater zeg ik (al dan niet gespeeld) dat we erg van de show genoten hebben, en Ron zegt dat hij daar blij mee is, met zo'n jong publiek; "Het is altijd moeilijk om je doelgroep te bepalen", aldus Ron.
Dan is het tijd voor een groepsfoto, en de net binnenlopende veiligheidsbeambte doet graag dienst als fotograaf. Als Laurens naast Ron gaat staan voor de foto merkt hij op dat Ron best groot is. "Ja, 1,96", zegt Ron. Niettegenstaande torent Laurens daar nog net iets bovenuit. Edwin merkt op dat Ron on stage niet zo groot lijkt. Ron grapt dat hij on stage altijd iets door zijn knieën zakt om het publiek niet te intimideren. Georg houdt zich verder een beetje op de achtergrond. Na dankzeggingen en kerstwensen over en weer keren we richting de garderobe waar de vorige fans nog staan. Edwin laat zijn CD zien, en de grootste fan (een niet onaantrekkelijk meisje van notabene 22 jaar oud, dat echt helemaal op Ron valt) vraagt of wij ook fans zijn. Om haar wereld niet te doen instorten door te zeggen dat wij hem drie keer niks vonden, lieg ik maar door 'ja' te zeggen. Wie had dat ooit nog gedacht, dat ik vrijwillig zou zeggen Ron-fan te zijn? Edwin brengt nog wel de nuance aan door te zeggen dat we niet allemaal even fanatiek zijn. Na afscheid van ze te hebben genomen, lopen we weer terug naar de parkeergarage, waar aan een toch nog geslaagd avondje een einde wordt gemaakt.
Door dit veelvuldige Ron-contact ben ik helemaal murw geslagen, en bekeerd tot Ron-fan. Hij is trouwens inderdaad gewoon een heel aardige man, en hij doet ook maar gewoon wat hij moet doen om brood op de plank te krijgen. Hij kan goed zelfrelativeren, kan met iedereen overweg, en is als presentator lang niet slecht. Alleen dat zingen moest ie eens achterwege laten... en gelukkig doet hij dat ook niet meer. |

* (parkeertroubles): Bij showbizzcity waren mensen die geen parkeer kaartje hadden. Dus mochten ze die van ons hebben en zouden wij een nieuwe pakken. Maar die klote slagboom bleef dus open staan en konden wij dus doorrijden zonder parkeerkaartje (met het gevolg dat je er dan niet meer uit kan). Dus na veel geklooi om er uit te kunnen komen en dan opnieuw door de poort te rijden mislukte, totdat de "parkeerdude" voor ons de poort open zette zodat wij er in konden, en dit keer MET parkeerkaartje. |

Ik ben erg blij dat Ramon is bekeerd. Prachtig hoe Ramon tegen Ron zei dat ie erg van de show had genoten. Wie had nou gedacht dat Ramon deze zin ooit hoogstpersoonlijk tegen Ron zou zeggen? Ik niet! Ik had ook niet verwacht dat ik zo zenuwachtig zou zijn over de ontmoeting met Ron... Maar gelukkig was Ron hartstikke aardig en vond ie het geen probleem om zijn handtekening op een prent van een vent te zetten.
Toen hij met die (echt fanatieke) fans voor ons aan het praten was vertelde Ron dat de televisiewereld een stuk harder was geworden met de huidige 9 zenders. Vroeger was er meer budget en had je meer kijkers. Ron was daarom ook blij dat ie vroeger had meegemaakt. Ron vertelde ook dat Andre (van Duin) eigenlijk geen televisie meer wil doen. Andre wil dan wel 6 afleveringen maken maar de omroepen willen dan dat ie gelijk 16 afleveringen doet om het kostendekkend te maken. En daar heeft Andre geen zin in. Ron vertelde ook dat ie geen MoppenToppers meer gaat doen. Gelukkig! (dacht ik). Een van die fans vertelde Ron ook nog dat 'of het nou goed gaat of slecht gaat, van ons kom je niet af!' Fijn toch?
Hierna kwam Ron even met ons babbelen. Eerst vroegen we of hij z'n handtekening op zijn album wou zetten. Ron deed dus een beetje lacherig over zijn eigen CD maar hij deelde ons wel mee dat het toch 'melodieuze' liedjes waren. Hij vroeg mij vervolgens waar ik de handtekening wou hebben. Ik zei: 'het is jouw CD, Ron. Jij mag het zeggen!' Ron liet de beslissing toch aan mij over en uiteindelijk heeft ie op de achterkant van het CD-boekje zijn krabbel gezet. Ron zei nog dat hij z'n best zou doen om een extra mooie handtekening neer te zetten en hij heeft ons niet teleurgesteld: 'Bedankt voor de steun! Ron Brandsteder.' Daarna zijn we dus met 'm op de foto gegaan. Hij vond (volgens mij) het erg leuk dat wij als jongeren zo van zijn programma genoten hadden aangezien we dus 'buiten de doelgroep' vielen.
Ron wenste ons allemaal nog prettige kerstdagen en daarna verdween hij naar de personeelskantine om een 'koud pilsje' te drinken. |
