Natuurlijk Edwin. Voorlopig liever een tijdelijke oplossing, scan de foto's en zet ze op een webpagina (of zeg maar hoe je het wilt) en stuur dat naar mij. Ik zal het verder met de pagina integreren.
De lange termijn oplossing is een permanente foto sectie. Zoiets als Martijn op het uitgaanscentrum had (maar dan beter natuurlijk :-D). Iemand nog suggesties voor de foto sectie? |

Ik weet niet of het in dat geval taalkundig gezien geoorloofd is te spreken van tientallen - per slot van rekening zou het gezond verstand toch menen dat er pas dan sprake kan zijn van tientallen, wanneer een bepaalde hoeveelheid een veelvoud is van tien. Pennsylvania (VS) - Amerikaanse wetenschappers toonden in fruitvliegjes een verband aan tussen de aanwezigheid van bepaalde signaalstoffen en de noodzaak tot slaap.
Volgens onderzoek met fruitvliegjes, gepubliceerd in 'Nature neuroscience', bestaat er een omgekeerd verband tussen hoeveel signaalstoffen er in de hersenen zijn en de noodzaak tot slaap. Grofweg gesteld: hoe meer er van de signaalmoleculen aanwezig zijn, hoe minder de slaapbehoefte. Een van deze stoffen is het zogenaamde CREB-eiwit.
De onderzoekers gebruikten voor hun experimenten genetisch veranderde fruitvliegjes en mutanten (fruitvliegjes die een eigenschap missen). Mutanten die weinig CREB konden maken, sliepen juist meer. Vliegen met veel CREB sliepen minder. Als de fruitvliegjes slaap onthouden werd, door ze elke vijftien seconden 'wakker te schudden', waren de CREB-mutanten daarna het meest aan een herstelslaap toe.
Peter Meerlo, neurobioloog aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (!), geeft aan dat er op moleculair niveau nog steeds maar weinig bekend is over slaapprocessen. 'CREB is mogelijk een component in de keten die het uiteindelijke herstelproces faciliteert. Maar wat dit herstelproces nu precies is, weten we nog steeds niet.' Nou, dat staat volgens mij toch al omschreven in het artikel twaalf berichten geleden? CREB is dus een eiwit dat je behoefte aan slaap blijkt te reguleren (veel CREB ==> weinig slaap), en ook een rol speelt bij leerprocessen en het langetermijngeheugen.
Bijna zou ik geneigd zijn wederom te zeggen: "Beter lezen dus", maar de reactie op een dergelijke zinsnede was ook weer niet de meest florisante. ff over CREB... dat zou best kunnen, maar ik ga geen injectienaald door mun schedel heenprikken om het na te meten... Feit is wel dat ik de nacht daarna 16 uur heb geslapen... en toen om 1 uur 's middags nog ben gewekt van lawaai buiten... 16 uur over 2 etmalen geeft met een relatief ingewikkelde rekensom 8 uur per etmaal slaap aan... Wat trouwes lager is dan mijn gemiddelde in 'vrije' tijd, zoals weekenden en vakanties. Maar zo nu en dan een nachje overslaan is nog best wel geinig! Zeker als je andere mensen motiveert om een zeker motto als signature te gebruiken :)

Zoals hier boven wordt gesproken, heb je het over 1 tiental of 0 tientallen of whatever! Je hebt het dan niet over de waarden van de elementen, maar over het aantal elementen! Je kunt inderdaad best wel 1 tiental hebben. 1 tientallen is taalkundig incorrect, maar dat ene tiental kan vele waarden aannemen, waaronder de waarde 10.
Zo iedereen begrepen? Mooi!
